These cookies are rich and chocolaty and your family will not feel deprived. In addition, because they are made with oil, they’re also free of trans fat.

1 cup oil
1 ¾ cups brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ cups white whole wheat flour
6 tbsp cocoa
10 oz chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment or silpats.

In your mixer bowl, beat together oil and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and continue mixing. Add flour and cocoa and mix just until combined. Gently stir in chocolate chips. Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form walnut-sized balls and place them on the prepared pans.

Bake about 12 Minutes and remove from the oven. Cool and store airtight.
