Cedar-Wrapped Salmon

Category,

It’s all about the sear when you use a cast iron pan to prepare salmon!

Yields6 Servings
Prep Time30 mins
 2 tbsp minced garlic
 2 tbsp soy sauce
 1 tbsp fresh parsley
 ¼ cup oil
 6 salmon fillets
 1 tbsp sesame seeds
 2 tbsp scallions
1

Combine garlic, soy sauce, ginger, parsley and oil in a large plastic Ziploc bag or shallow glass baking dish (Never marinate fish in an aluminum pan.)

2

Stir to combine. Add salmon to marinade. Marinate in refrigerator for 30 Minutes, turning once after 15 Minutes.

3

Soak cedar sheets in water as directed. Drain.

4

Preheat oven to 425°F.

5

Remove salmon from marinade and discard the marinade. Place each salmon fillet skin-side down on a cedar sheet. Fold the sides of the sheet over the fillet and tie with kitchen twine or a strip of scallion.

6

Bake salmon for 20 Minutes, until fillets are opaque and just slightly pink in the center.

7

Open packet and sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions.

Serve hot or at room temperature.

Thank you! Your mention that the dish can be served at room temperature was the key in trying this recipe. Served as precooked side dish to a space grabbing ribs and veggies on the grill.
