Sour Cream Twists


Sour Cream Twists
Dough:
6 Cups Flour
6 T  Sugar
2 T instant yeast dissolved in 1/2  Cup warm water
2 eggs
4 T butter (1/2 stick)
1 lb sour cream
1 vanilla
1/2 t salt

Filling:
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup brown sugar tightly packed
3 t cinnamon

Glaze:
3 cups confection sugar
4T warm water
 

Make the Dough:
Mix dry ingredients, add the yeast with water. Add the remaining ingredients. Knead for ten minutes till soft and elastic.
Let rise 1-1 1/2 hrs.

Make the filling:
Mix filling ingredients in mixer fitted with the beaters. (can be done by hand if the butter is soft)

Preheat oven to 350
Divide dough into three equall parts. Roll out each piece to approximately 8" x 24". Smear on filling, Fold dough over to 4" x 24". Cut 1" slices.
Twist twice. Place on parchment lined baking sheets. Bake on 350 for 20 min. Do not overbake.

Make the Glaze:
Mix glaze ingredients in a bowl. If the glaze is too thick add more warm water. Smear glaze on twists while warm.
